ICC-Accredited Education, Training and Emerging Best-Practices Offerings to Assist Code Officials in Streamlining Plan Review, Paperless Business Processes
Scottsdale, Ariz. — October 17, 2012 — Avolve Software Corporation, makers of ProjectDox® the nation’s leading electronic plan solution for state and local government, will be a featured participant at the 2012 International Code Council (ICC) Annual Business Meeting in Portland, OR October 21-26. The Company, in its capacity as a member of the Fiatech Regulatory Streamlining Committee (RSC), has been slated to co-present a 3-hour, ICC-accredited education session focusing on the digital transformation of code review processes performed by government jurisdictions.
The course, titled “Transitioning to the 2D/3D Digital Review Process – Going Paperless,” marks the first ICC-sanctioned training that specifically addresses code officials, the benefits of digital tools and methods, and the need to drastically reduce and even eliminate paper from the code-check and plan review process. Fiatech RSC members Avolve Software and Solibri LLC co-authored the course with support from Target Corporation, the corporate sponsor for education at the ICC 2012 Annual Business Meeting, and also a Fiatech RSC member. Several U.S. jurisdictions have achieved virtual, “zero-paper” status by applying digital technology to their plan submission and review practices.
“We’re very encouraged by the support the ICC has demonstrated for technology innovation in general, and our effort in particular,“ said Ron Loback, President and CEO of Avolve Software, and co-chair of the Fiatech RSC. “By focusing attention on the need to streamline using technology, the ICC can bring the full weight of its influence on authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to address a national issue. We believe that their foresight will help accelerate the adoption of digital tools and spur creativity as to how they are used.”
Since 2005, Avolve Software has been the leader in electronic plan solutions for state and local government. Working with industry and technology leaders such as Fiatech, AGC BIMForum, the International Code Council, the American Institutes of Architects (AIA) and others, Avolve has and continues to lead the digital transformation of the regulatory review process.
