Osceola
County, Florida To Deploy Avolve Software’s ProjectDox® Online Construction Plan Submission
and Review Solution
Plan Check System Designed to Reduce Paper, Time and Travel While Supporting Broader e-Initiatives
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — July 17, 2007 — Avolve Software, developers of ProjectDox® communication and collaboration
software, announced today that Osceola County Florida will deploy Avolve’s ProjectDox as part of an ongoing e-government
program that will significantly reduce the amount of paper, travel and other time and cost inefficiencies associated
with obtaining a construction permit.
Osceola County joins a growing list of cities and counties across the nation that are implementing electronic
plan-check systems, as well as other web-based technologies, to manage complex internal processes and provide
outward-facing tools to better serve their respective citizens.
“Automating the development and construction permitting process as much as possible using tools like ProjectDox
gives us tremendous opportunities to serve our rapidly growing county,” said Clinton Wallace, Director of Building
for Osceola County. “ProjectDox not only provides more structure and support for our commitment to building safety,
but it also facilitates information visibility for all our departments and citizens at any time. We’re a better
building department with this technology”, he added.
Created in 1886, Osceola County is a 1,506 square mile area that serves as the south/central boundary of the
Central Florida greater metropolitan area. The city of Kissimmee, the county seat, is 18 miles due south of Orlando.
Osceola's other incorporated city, St. Cloud, is 9 miles east of Kissimmee and approximately 45 miles west of the
city of Melbourne on the Atlantic coast. Osceola County has historically been known as a transportation crossroad
and is currently served by the Florida East Coast, Seaboard and Amtrak railroad systems, Interstate 4 and the
Florida Turnpike. Osceola County's economic base is dominated by tourism, serving as a gateway to Walt Disney World
and other Central Florida attractions.
“Implementing ProjectDox for submission and approval of construction plans electronically reflects the success
that Osceola County has achieved adjusting to major changes to its economics and demographics”, said Ron Loback,
President and CEO at Avolve. “The positive impact of reducing the time and resources required to complete a construction
permit will continue to benefit industry and private citizens well into the future,” he added.
