Pima County, Arizona To Boost Permitting Efficiency, Simplicity With Avolve

ProjectDox® Online Construction Plan
Check Solution
Eco-Friendly Plan Check System Promotes Paper and Emissions
Reduction
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — July 25, 2007 — Avolve Software, developers of ProjectDox® communication and collaboration
software, announced today that Pima County Arizona will deploy Avolve’s ProjectDox as part of an ongoing
e-government program that enables the county to complete and approve construction permits completely online
with the addition of web-based plan submission and review.
Pima County joins a growing list of cities and counties across the nation that are implementing electronic
plan-check systems, as well as other web-based technologies, to manage complex internal processes and provide
outward-facing tools to better serve their respective citizens.
“Our goal is to implement technologies that have intrinsic and long-term economic, social and ecological value,
and at the same time fit well with our information management strategy,” said John Sweeney, Business Operations
Manager for Pima County’s Development Services Department. “ProjectDox is an important first step towards electronic
plan review, a key component of our strategic plan to improve customer service, convenience, and our permitting and
development review processes.”
About Pima County
Pima County including the City of Tucson, recently reached one million in population. As the second largest region in Arizona,
almost half the population lives in the unincorporated area governed by county government. Recently Pima County passed one of the
most aggressive sustainability resolutions of any jurisdiction outlining its goals to reduce pollutants, conserve resources,
and maximize the livability of the region in line with the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. Pima County also ranks first,
in counties’ its size, in the attraction of businesses to the region. Development and Building Review processes must be fast
and efficient to accommodate the demands of the industry while integrating the unique requirements for a sustainable community into the review.
“Providing electronic plan submission and review is a huge win for business, citizens and the environment, not to mention county
administration”, said Ron Loback, President and CEO at Avolve. “Pima County is another high growth area that is committed to
best-practices with respect to managing expansion and the services that go with it – and we’re particularly pleased to support
this region of our home state,” he added
