Avolve Software CEO Joins Industry and Government Officials to Promote Best-Practices Dialogue

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — January 14, 2010 — Avolve Software Corporation, developers of ProjectDox® ePlan and collaboration software announced today that Ron Loback, President and CEO of Avolve and co-chair of the FIATECH Regulatory Streamlining Task Force, will join with key members of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) BIMForum and government personnel from vanguard local jurisdictions on Friday January 14, 2010 to promote electronic plan review best practices for the commercial construction industry.

The BIMForum is the AGC’s task force on Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIMForum’s 1500+ members meet 3 times a year at various locations across the country and collaborate online via the discussion forums. According to the AGC, the BIMForum has quickly become the “can’t-miss event” for those interested in the application of virtual design and construction for the AEC industry, tripling in size in the last two years and hailed as a wild success by industry media giant Electronic News Record (McGraw–Hill).

Joining Mr. Loback on the platform will be Orion Goff, Chief Building Official for Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dan Owens, IT Manager for Clark County, Nevada. Both jurisdictions have implemented leading-edge electronic plan submission and review systems for their respective communities, and will give summary reports to the BIMForum regarding the current and future use of technology for regulatory enforcement and streamlining. Robert Wible, Project Manager for the FIATECH Regulatory Streamlining Task Force, will provide the opening remarks. A BIMForum-sponsored Regulatory Committee meeting is planned following the presentation.

“The BIMForum and its members represent the very forefront of construction technology, and as such needs to be aware of all the positive developments happening on the regulatory side”, said Mr. Loback. “Our objective is to establish a dialogue between commercial design-construction and jurisdictions in an effort to collaborate more effectively, as well as learn how best to apply available tools. The BIMForum leadership has expressed a keen interest and excitement about this aspect of the construction process and increasing its involvement.”
