Salt Lake City, UT (population 183,000) Salt Lake City (SLC) is known as the “Crossroads of the West” for its central geography in the western United States. The City sits adjacent to the Wasatch Mountains and was host to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. City government has established itself as a leader in the application of information technology to manage administrative processes, and has made a long-term comittments to sustainable planning and growth. The Department of Community and Economic Development, which includes the Building Services Division, launched a streamlining program that featured a fully-integrated, online permit application and plan review and approval process – One Stop Shop. Building Services purchased ProjectDox in 2008 and went live in August 2009. In addition to successfully receiving plan submittals from development and construction partners locally and across the country, SLC will use ProjectDox as the collaboration platform for its own downtown Emergency Services Center,  a $120 million capital asset project that will incorporate the use of BIM data and 3D models as part of the planning and review process.
