ProjectDox ePlan System to Support Planning Management and Sustainable Construction Best Practices
Scottsdale, ARIZONA — June 30, 2010 — Avolve Software Corporation, developers of ProjectDox® communication and collaboration software and the leading provider of ePlan solutions for government nationwide, announced today that the City of Albuquerque, NM will implement and deploy the company’s ProjectDox electronic plan submission, review and tracking system as part of its commitment to reduce paper and costs as well as pursue long-term sustainability objectives.
The Albuquerque City Council, in a June 7, 2010 meeting, heard comments from the Planning Department regarding the advantages the city stands to gain by deploying and using electronic plan services, which include the reduction of paper, shrinking archive storage costs, flexible and ubiquitous access for plan submission and shorter review times due to parallel plan review functionality. The Council voted unanimously to approve the purchase of the ProjectDox solution. http://www.avolvesoftware.com/index.php/06/2010/albuquerque-city-council-video/
Deborah Stover, Planning Department Director, affirmed the decision, commenting: “We’re very excited about this – it’s going to save our customers time and money as well as the costs of printing the big rolls of plans, and it’s going to save our staff time getting the plans reviewed sooner.” The Planning Department will work closely with the Avolve Professional Services team to deploy the solution progressively in alignment with the company’s ePlan best-practices methodology.
Since 2003, Albuquerque has spawned and participated in several notable “green” initiatives, notably the 2030 Challenge sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Mayors in 2006, which seeks to achieve “carbon neutrality” for all construction projects by the year 2030, cutting heating, cooling and maintenance costs for buildings by as much as fifty percent. More information about Albuquerque and sustainability can be found on the “Albuquerque Green” portion of the City’s web site. Visit: http://www.cabq.gov/albuquerquegreen/
ProjectDox ePlan solutions allows jurisdictions like Albuquerque to offer web-based file submission and review to citizens, architects, and developers who work with Building, Planning/Zoning and Public Works site, construction and engineering plans. Key benefits include reducing paper, printing costs, storage costs, deforestation, drive time, gasoline consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions – while improving customer service and enabling greater efficiency between multiple departments.
“Albuquerque’s dedication to paperless operations and sustainable construction reflects a responsible and intelligent look at the future,” said Ron Loback, President and CEO at Avolve. “We’re a great fit for that vision, and we look forward to our role in enabling the city to provide advanced ePlan technology services online.”
