Washington, D.C. is the capital of the United States. The District has a resident population of 599,657; the surrounding Washington metropolitan area has a population of 5.9 million, making it the ninth largest in the U.S. Washington’s Department of Consumer Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) acquired ProjectDox in December 2009. The DCRA is responsible for all regulatory enforcement and land use planning and development, and has committed the District to sustainability best-practices and progressive urban renewal policies. Electronic plan submission and review will enable the DCRA to expedite plan approval for citizens and commercial investors in the District’s urban renewal program.
