ProjectDox® - How It Works (page 2 of 3)
Users are typically invited to a project via email from the project administrator. ProjectDox provides login and password credentials
and a set of permissions based on the type of user role they are assigned.
Authorized users can upload nearly any kind of drawing or document into ProjectDox.
ProjectDox takes each document, publishes a rendition of the file for use by users onscreen, and stores the original.
Original files are never modified or altered in any way. The rendition files are what users see when they
request a file.
All onscreen work such as markups and annotations
are performed in layers "above"
the original document or drawing. This allows ProjectDox to completely
and accurately record and manage all the activity associated with every file
in use during a project. It also enables many of the special features that
make ProjectDox highly efficient and easy to use.
