Avolve is excited to announce that CAL FIRE is moving to ePlan and has selected Avolve and ProjectDox! CAL FIRE has been working with Avolve partner, IBTS, to initiate phase one of a transformation to a digital process and last year launched IBTS’s electronic permitting, licensing, listing, and certification system, GOVmotus Fire. The new system has enabled clients and stakeholders to more effectively and efficiently participate in the permitting and application processes.
Following the implementation of GOVmotus Fire, the missing piece has been the electronic review of related plans and documents for permit approvals. Given that the department processed approximately 2600 applications in the past year, there is still significant room for improving process efficiency by automating the plan review component. CAL FIRE Chief, Stephen Guarino, has long been committed to a vision of digital transparency and efficiency for the Department, and was seeking a holistic approach to the entire process. Therefore, as the second phase of this digital transformation, CAL FIRE is excited to be moving to ePlan on the ProjectDox platform.
CAL FIRE is the State of California’s agency responsible for fire protection in State Responsibility Areas of California totaling 31 million acres, as well as the administration of the state’s private and public forests. It is also the largest full service all risk fire department in the Western United States and operates more fire stations year round than the New York (FDNY), Los Angeles (LAFD), and Chicago (CFD) fire departments combined. It is also the second largest municipal fire department in the United States.
IBTS partners with government at all levels to provide unparalleled expertise in regulatory compliance, program and service management, and quality engineering services.
